  1. How much do advertising designers get payed?
I want to major in advertising design, how much is the salary yearly?

  2. Modern advertising Graphic Designers?
Im currently studying Graphic Design at A2 level and i can’t seem to find many graphic designers that produce really modern print advertising, for example Ipod print adverts that you see in magazines.
Or even modern designers that create magazine covers or album covers?

Any names of print advertising graphic designers would help alot 😀

    Thanks in advance! 😀

  3. The pre-eminent graphic designer who produces really modern print advertising and magazine covers and album covers is MILT GLASER. Another one is HENRY STEINER. A third is HERB LUBALIN

  4. well i would like to find out more about this topic, I’m a designer myself… to be successful I believe you have to look at the smallest details and above all meet deadlines, if you say at “x” time that you gonna finish a project you have to make it happen.

  5. Salary depends on many factors including the work you have to show and the market the job is in. A designer in New York City will make more than a designer in St. Louis. The average will fall around 35k, but that number will fluctuate greatly depending on the city.

  6. Question to professional graphic designers, advertising and online marketing people?

I will have a job interview at a graphic design and marketing agency soon. A question. How much does it cost and How many hours does it take to develop an

    1. E-catalogue for a professional company

    2. a professional website for a midsize company, small agency

    3. a professional newsletter…

This should also involve the development and strategy finding….

    Thank you.

  7. OK, it’s late so just a quick answer now.
I assume you’re a graphic designer, so will respond accordingly. I’m not sure if you’re interviewing for a FT job or a freelance gig; that would have been helpful to know. Anyway:

Teisha provided some very low figures. I know freelancers can do things for less than a full-service ad agency (they don’t have the overhead), but at an ad agency, there will be meetings with the client, planning meetings, then your creative director giving input, throwing some of your ideas back, then of course client changes. Putting together a newsletter could take 40 hours – but of course, it depends on whether it’s a 4-page letter of 16-page. Try to figure out how much it would take to design a page, to design the masthead, and then figure in time for client and agency meetings, as well as revisions. That should help.

Then do the same with the other projects.

Websites are very labor-intensive. I’ve never done one for under $1200 – for say 8 pages. And that was with all the material provided for me; I attended just one meeting. I’m a freelancer, but I remember agency prices. Websites are like brochures; they take at least 40 hours. Again, depends on length.

If you want to create some wiggle room for yourself about costs, you can say that once you know their hourly rate for the various functions, you could pull together a quote for them. Agencies tend to bill their clients at least $150/hr for creative.

Finally, if you’re a member of LinkedIn (or perhaps even if you’re not), you can post your question there and get dozens of responses.

  8. Do designers advertise their couture garments?
I’m doing an assignment on advertisement photography. I’m wondering if couture garments are ever advertised? Most of the garments advertised in fashion magazines are from the designers’ ready-to-wear collection.

I’m gonna do an advertisement for a couture garment, so I need references for such ads. Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

  9. They advertise in Vanity Fair. You will find some really great ad designs in that mag.
