How to Create a Self Running Slideshow

If you want to share a few photos with friends and family creating a self running slideshow can be a fun and different way to do it. I will show you step by step how you can create a self running full-screen slideshow that does not require any installation and that does not infect your computer with strange add-ware or other unwanted software.

Selecting photos
First of all you need a couple of images to use for your slideshow. Use your favourite image program and make a copy of your selected image. Photos taken with a normal digital camera are larger than what can be displayed on a normal computer screen. Having larger images does nothing for the quality it only make the files larger and they take a longer time to load. Resize your images to 1024×768 which is what most people has set as resolution for their desktop. If you want to make a slideshow from a movie you can download Fast video indexer, and use it to capture movie frames.
Building the slideshow.
When you have selected the images start Inzomia image viewer and add the images to the empty playlist. You can reorder images in the playlist by dragging. The slideshow will display the images in the playlist order.

Next, open the preferences on go to the slideshow tab do set how many seconds each image should be displayed. On the transitions tab you can select if the slideshow should have transitions and you can alter the transition type. If you check the “show transitions in navigation” you can try the settings by clicking on different images in the playlist.

When you have completed you settings click on the Save button. From the file format dropdown list select “Self running exe slideshow”, select a filename for your slideshow and click Save. You will be prompted with a dialog asking if you want a help dialog displayed before the slideshow starts, click “yes” and you are ready.

Running your slideshow
Now close Inzomia image viewer, if the program is running the slideshow will not start. Find the exe slideshow on your computer and double click it to run the program. When you want to share the slideshow with friends the best is if you have a web server where you can upload the program or if you pack the exe file in a zip file. Many mailservers and firewalls do not allow exe files as attachments. This is to prevent users to accidentally install harmful software on their computer. The slideshow you created with Inzomia image viewer does not contain any addware or other harmful code.

Creating a self running exe slideshow with Inzomia image viewer is so simply anyone can do it. Sharing you photo as a slideshow is fun and different and the one you give the slideshow does not have to have the program installed.

  1. How do I create a professional website?
I would like to create a website for my mother’s spa business which specializes in beauty and what not. I was hoping someone may be able to help me w/ this. I think starting from scratch may be the option that appeals to me the most.

IF POSSIBLE I WOULD LIKE IT TO BE FREE

  2. How do I create my own professional website for my art/sculptors with my own domain?
I want to know which sponsors are the best? Who can I hire to create a website for me which looks professional?
I really would like all the help I can get, message me or post here please.
It’s a website which includes (biography, photos, contact, etc.,)
    Thankyou!

  3. First of all, “professional” and “free” cannot be used in the same sentence (not even on the same page!).
A proper domain and hosting plan can cost as little as 50$/year.
If you can’t afford that, then you are not a “professional” and will never make anything “professional”.
    That’s for the bad comment…

Professionals very rarely rely on IDEs to design their sites: they start with a mockup, as an image, made by a professional GRAPHIC artist (if they are not good artists themselves), then plan their actions, developing the specs “what and how” the site will do and work.
    After, then start coding.
Good coders use a simple Notepad (plain text editor).
Reason? They can fine tune the site as they go along, and for all browsers. They have a code that is clear, understandable and easy to maintain (something you will never have with and WYSIWYG software!)
Then they test their site on several browsers…

If you start from scratch, get a LAMP server, a proper domain, and learn HTML, javascript, php and MySQL at http://www.w3schools.com and http://www.php.net.

    Good luck!

  4. I need a site that can help me create a professional website at low cost without having to know a program ?
I do not know any programming skills whatsoever. However, I need to make a very professional website for an organization. Is there any site that can give me tools to configure the website (without knowing the language) and edit/update it easily, while at a low cost? THANKS!

  5. I use a company called GDI. You can create it yourself with the very easy to use Site Builder. It is the most simple web host you will find. But, it also has way more advanced features to use Dreamweaver or Frontpage. I mean, I get the domain name, the hosting, the Site Builder, forwarding services and 10 e-mails all for 10 dollars a month. It’s a No Brainer. I use Godaddy too, but it is so slow compared to GDI.

  6. what is the cost to create professional-looking informational website with message board?
I wish to create a business based entirely on an informational website containing mainly a daily
text article, a message board, member logins, and member email notification. The information content and message board need to be searchable. Revenue will be almost entirely from ads on the site. How much would it cost to have a professional-looking site created: how much for the web developer to create the site, how much for hosting. Rough estimate is ok. Thx.

  7. What would I use to create a professional website?
What tools would I use to create a professional looking website like Mapquest or Digg?

  8. If I think you need to look for freely available templates and modify them to create the site. You can find lot of good templates at http://www.oswd.org

Once you find a good template, then you can just open the file in a text editor like note pad and create each page of your site. There are also other things you need to know for creating a site, like domain name registration, webhosting etc. You can find these explained here http://www.shaplus.com/guide/website/how-to-create-website.htm

  9. Hey there Jman! I can tell you what I would/have used if that helps…

It’s all about the look and the back-end of it. For the look (front end) I have used CSS layouts (of which you can find some great free templates online) and Dreamweaver for the coding – so you can see how it looks right away. I’m a big notepad guy (the program) though, so I do most of my coding in Notepad. If you are more visual, there are tons of WYSIWYG editors out there where you just drag and drop where/what you want.

I would suggest using some sort of programming for it, so that the ‘frame’ of the page doesn’t change, just the main content (in the center of the screen for example) – that whay when you have to make changes, should only have to make them a few places…
