  3. How do we design a dynamic website like yahoo?
How do we design a dynamic website like yahoo and what type of software we required?

I never see what type of language yahoo use php, asp or aspx b/c of their dynamic website structure.

    thanks

  4. What softwares should I learn to design a nice dynamic website?
And How much time and cost would it take to learn those softwares? Can I learn it myself?
Would Photoshop and Flash be enough for designing graphics for a website? Or should I learn other softwares too?
Please be lit bit particular and point out the name of the softwares that I should really learn. And please answer only if you are really into Web Designing.

  5. Your ambition is commandable!
Web 2.0 AJAX interactive websites like Yahoo are not called “websites” but web applications.
Two ways, depending on the type of server: LAMP or WAMP.
Lamp are Unix based, and use PhP and mySQL (free products)
Wamp are Microsoft windows and use ASJ, JSP, and a few types of Database (all very expensive to run and full of bugs).
    To LAMP servers, you use:
(X)HTML, XML, javascript, Perl/Php, mySQL and AJAX (or, more precisely a more efficient AJAX called “Sajax”).
The software to design these sites?
NOTEPAD++ (or any other text editor), absolutely nothing else! Any attempt to use a WYSIWYG software such as frontpage, dreamweaver etc is bound to total failure.
Finally, these applications are very complex and take a LONG time to develop. Yahoo has a team of full time programmers… and still crashing now and then!

  7. Dynamic website design, best implementations?
I’m an amateur web designer. I have a background in programming and interested in different ways to create dynamic websites.

I know the most popular languages to do this in are PHP, Perl, ASP, and Ruby.

I only know one general way of creating dynamic content. Kind of like this:

    HTML file:

    INCLUDE header script here
    INCLUDE navbar script here
    INCLUDE content here
    INCLUDE footer here

As you can see, we’re limited to only the amount of included script sections we add the first time we decide to design sites like these. The only way I can think of to change these pages (say I have hundreds of pages with this format) is to write a separate Perl script to parse each file to change the INCLUDE structure to generate a different website design. Is this is only way of doing it?

For example, say we wanted to add a new script to each webpage.

    new HTML file:

    INCLUDE header script here
    INCLUDE navbar script here
    INCLUDE content script here
    INCLUDE footer script here
    INCLUDE NEW script content here

I seems like the single script execution to traverse each file is the only way. This would make sense why websites sometimes take a while to update each page of theirs (like the Facebook Timeline).

Sorry if I sound like a n00b, but I’d like input on this topic.

  8. Help with dynamic website design?
How can someone market a multi-million idea for a website? Considering the fact that he’s great at graphic design but can’t create a dynamic website himself ( u’know source code and all that) and he would like to work in close proximity with the designer. Any help one how the person can go about this?

  9. There is lot of way to do this job.
but finally you should include required files , regardless how you gonna implement sections.
but these days MVC ( Model,View,Controller ) programming is very good solution for building dynamic web sites. which is required object oriented programming concept.
in php programming language zend framework dose the work , you could design any kind of dynamic web application with zend framework with ease of separating mode, view and controller for easy development and later updates and modifies.
please refer to http://framework.zend.com for more information.

  10. If it’s really a good idea, learn the basics of webdesign (it’s easy) and when you can talk the walk, hire a programming grad to help you out.

Edit: Sorry, Don, but I disagree. Geocities is weblite. No serious websites use geocities
